After threatening to do this for over five years, I’ve finally set up my personal blog. Welcome!
This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’ve finally found the inner energy to make it happen.
With a love for the outdoors becoming an increasingly significant aspect of my life, I felt a blog would be the ideal platform to share the sights and stories of my escapades in the great outdoors of the United Kingdom and beyond.
I’ll be using the blog to record the walks, camping expeditions and, hopefully, the climbing that I’ll be doing over the coming years. From spring weekends away in the Lake District to winter mountaineering routes in Scotland, I hope to build up a personal diary of the experiences I have along the way.
And in a completely different strand, I’ll be hoping to share some insight into aspects of my career as a video games producer working for a high-profile independent developer in the North of England. Maybe it’s not the most appropriate combination for a blog, but I’m ultimately doing this for myself and these are the two biggest aspects of my life right now. So, why not combine them?
To start with I will be using a WordPress theme. However, I will be customising it as I find the time, and I’ll look at ways to bring a different identity to the different subjects I’ll be covering on the blog. I’ve got a few ideas, so watch this space.
Anyway, first thing is first. I’ve got plenty of photos I’d like to put up of some of the walking I have done over the past few months. I’ll be taking some time to put those up before anything else.
