The following are examples of websites that I have recently designed and developed. If you would like to view a site, please click on the image of the page to the right. If you are interested in my web design and development services then use this handy form here.

SeeHear

Well, I had to include this really! It is the latest revamp for my portfolio. The last one looked quite shocking to be honest, and I'm glad to get the fresh design up.

I guess when I get some more sites under me belt I'll take it off this list.

See Hear

Antetype Web

This is the previous design for my web design company. The site was updated for 2008, featuring a brand new, clean design. See above for the new design

Audio Post Production

Animatrix: Kid's Story (recreated)

Kid's Story

During my degree course I was given the chance to select a video clip with which to entirely recreate the audio post-production, including sound effects, music and ADR. In essence I was given a blank slate, with which to totally reinterpret the scenes and create my own audio sculptures.

In addition to creative audio recording, editing and processing techniques we also created or enhanced sounds through the use of custom-built sound tools (NI Reaktor 5).

The individual stems were compiled and then mixed down, and the result (and additional information) can be viewed on youtube here.

Essays

These are some of the essays that I completed on my degree course. I don't know if they'll be of any use to anyone, or if anyone might find them interesting, but I thought that it would be better to put them up on here rather than have them gathering dust on me hard drive.

Examining the Sound/Image Relationship in Film: Walter Murch and the Perceptual Vacuum

‘by choosing carefully what to eliminate, and then adding back sounds that seem at first hearing to be somewhat at odds with the accompanying image, the filmmaker can open up a perceptual vacuum into which the mind of the audience must inevitably rush.’

Walter Murch, (2000)

A Comparative Analysis of Server-Side Technology: PHP 5.0 and ASP.NET 2.0

This report introduces the reader to server-side scripting languages. The first section goes on to examine their history and explain the mechanism behind their action. The second section focusses the two most popular server-side languages, PHP and ASP.NET, and compares the two. It concludes that PHP is more suited to smaller scale projects and ASP.NET is generally suitable for corporate scale implementations.

Challenging Adorno: How Steve Reich and Minimalism Blurred the Culture Dichotomy of Modernism

‘There's just a handful of living composers who can legitimately claim to have altered the direction of musical history and Steve Reich is one of them.’

(The Guardian, 2000)
